At pokeireland.ie, we aim to describe all cards as accurately and consistently as possible. Please review the condition categories below before purchasing.

 

Trading cards—especially collectible items like Pokémon cards—may show natural wear depending on age, handling, and storage.

 

 

 

 

Condition Categories

 

 

 

Mint (M)

 

 

  • Card is in perfect or near-perfect condition
  • No visible wear, scratches, or whitening
  • Sharp corners and clean edges
  • No printing defects

 

 

⚠️ Note: Truly “Mint” cards are extremely rare. Most modern pack-fresh cards will still fall under Near Mint.

 

 

 

 

Near Mint (NM)

 

 

  • Very minimal wear
  • Slight edge or corner whitening may be visible under close inspection
  • Surface is clean with little to no scratching
  • Card has not been played

 

 

👉 This is the standard condition for most cards sold unless stated otherwise.

 

 

 

 

Excellent / Lightly Played (LP)

 

 

  • Small signs of wear visible
  • Minor edge wear or whitening
  • Light surface scratches possible
  • Still in very good overall condition

 

 

 

 

 

Good / Moderately Played (MP)

 

 

  • Noticeable wear from handling or play
  • Edge wear, whitening, and surface scratches visible
  • Possible small dents or marks

 

 

 

 

 

Played / Heavily Played (HP)

 

 

  • Significant wear
  • Heavy whitening, scratches, or creasing
  • Card may have visible damage but remains intact

 

 

 

 

 

Damaged (DMG)

 

 

  • Major defects such as:
    • Creases
    • Tears
    • Water damage
    • Bends

 

 

⚠️ Damaged cards are sold at a reduced price and clearly labelled.
